  • The pair of Galapagos Cormorants entered the water and immediately began their elaborate courtship dance.  The pair intertwined their necks as they moved rapidly across the water.  The dance went on for more than 10 minutes.

  • The booby raised its bright blue foot and waved it as it called to the sky.  Oh, how sexy it is as it trys to attrack a mate.

  • The Blue-footed Booby flew low along the water until it spotted fish and then dove diagonally into the water.  Several individuals continuely circled and dove while the fish remained close to the shore and surface.  After 20 minutes they drifted to other feeding areas.

  • The adult Waved Albatross landed and began to waddle toward its mate.  The eye-brows, yellow bill and dark eyes were mesmerizing.

  • The incredible aerodynamics of the flying albatross was intriquing.  This individual flew by a dozen times before it attempted to land.  The seven plus foot wing-spread and ability to fly almost effortlessly was amazing.

  • I nelt down to photograph this young individual and it opened its eye wide without moving any part of its body.  I was careful to back aware carefully so as not to disturb it more.  The seal closed its eye and went back to sleep.

  • These four Galapagos Seals were lying close together napping when the right hand one raised its flipper to reach across the small one to the largest one in the middle.  They looked very comfortable.

  • The Red-footed Boobies sat in the bushes as the sun set behind Genovesa Island.  This beautiful scene made us pause and marvel at our good fortune to visit this unique place.

  • We hiked to the rim of the caldera and were able to look across the magnificient scene.  It was wonderful and it gave us an appreciation for how these islands have formed and continue to change.
