Rocks from a landslide cover the bottom of Emmons Glacier. The White River originates from the cave at the terminous of the glacier. I am standing on the moraine from when the glacier extended down the valley. The glacier is 200 feet thick and slowly receeding up the valley. At one point, during the last glaciation, this valley was filled with a thousand foot thick glacier.
