Dipper pauses

Sitting and listening to the mountain stream roll by is extremely relaxing when all of a sudden I notice a flicker that is not the ripple of rapids. After a few minutes wait an American Dipper pops out from behind a rock and pauses before it dives back into the rapids to look for an insect. As the bird moves down the stream, I am left to feel I have been so lucky to experience this moment.
