Barrows Goldeneyes and Surf Scoters

A mixed group of scoters and goldeneyes rest between feeding dives. Note the young glaucous-winged gull with them. If a duck surfaced with a mussel, the gull would attempt to steal it from them. The duck would immediately dive to protect its morsel.
