  • A lenticular cloud forms over the top of Mt Rainier. A landslide came down part of Willis Wall while I was watching. I heard the crack and saw dust rise as the debrey crashed down to the glacier below.

  • A lenticular cloud blankets the summit of Mt Rainier. The Kautz chut drops from the ice field on the summit and the Kautz Glacier grows from the bowl just beflow the summit.  The Pyramid and Success glaciers are on the left. The Success Cleaver is the large larva wall extending down the left side of the mountain.

  • Clouds enveloped Mt Rainier for two days as it snowed at higher elevations and rained through the valleys.  The clouds lifted for a while on the third morning and the sun lit the fresh snow and fall colors in the valley. A lenticular cloud hung tight over the summit.

  • A lenticular cloud blankets the summit of Mt Rainier. The Kautz chut drops from the ice field on the summit and the Kautz Glacier grows from the bowl just beflow the summit.   • Mt Rainier from 2nd Burroughs Mountain before the lenticular cloud formed. Emmons glacier flows down to the left and Wintrop Glacier flows down to the righ in front of Willis Wall. The small glacier in the middle is Inter Glacier and mountain climbers go up it to Steamboat Prow before they drop down to Camp Sherman for the night before their climb.
